Programs as unique as your dog!
In-Home Sessions
CCO will come to you! This is a great option for those who have busy schedules or prefer to do training in the comfort of their own home. In-home sessions also give you the option to customize your training through a pick and choose approach. These sessions can be used to target specific issues like aggression, reactivity, barking at the door and jumping on guests or our various obedience courses.
Behavior Modification
Training saves lives! CCO will give you the tools to change the mindset of your dog and address behaviors such as aggression toward people or other dogs, anxiety, being pushy with guests and many more negative behaviors that unfortunately can lead to rehoming or euthanization. Every dog is different. While some dogs may exhibit the same problem behavior, they may not be doing it for the same reason. There are also some behaviors that obedience training alone cannot fix. This is why working with a behavioral trainer who specializes in behavior modification is so important and effective. With these customized training programs, you will learn how to be a confident leader while keeping a healthy relationship with your dog.
Basic Obedience
(Available as a 6 week group class, private package or board and train)

Nuisance behaviors such as nipping, barking, jumping and chewing will be addressed as well. It’s never too late to start and this is a great option for newly adopted dogs because training helps with bonding. You’ll learn how to communicate with your dog in a confident and healthy way that they will understand.

Advanced Obedience
(Available as an 8 week group class, private package or board and train)
This course takes what you and your dog have learned in basic obedience and puts it into action with the “Three Ds”. Duration, distance and distraction. In day to day life, there are all kinds of things going on that can make it difficult for your dog to listen. When your dog has been desensitized to different distractions, they are able to concentrate more on what you are asking of them. Those taking this course must have either completed the Puppy or Beginner course or prove proficiency in the curriculum covered at that level. This course is a prerequisite for the Therapy Dog class. The Advanced course can be taken as a standalone course or paired with the Therapy Dog class.

Therapy Dog Training
(Available as an 8 week group class)
This course is only available as a group class and must be paired with the Advanced course (16 weeks total). All are welcome to take this class even if you are not planning to do therapy work and just want continued higher level training. This program is longer than most because while it is important that you are prepared to pass the therapy dog certification test, it is even more important that your dog is ready to handle the real life situations it will face as a therapy dog. Working in the group class environment for the longer period of time is the most effective way to do this kind of training. Did you know that there is a proper way to approach a wheelchair? How would your dog react to a walker or cane moving close to them? Does your dog have the impulse control to stay calm when being pet by an excited stranger? All of these situations and more are covered in this course.

Board and Trains
CCO offers Board and Train options for Obedience courses, Off-Leash training, CGC Test Prep and specified needs. After discussing what program you would like to sign up for, you will be given the password to the Board and Train registration form and fill that out. Pick up and drop off transport is available. Much like everything else, this is custom! A pre-board meeting will be scheduled for a time before your B+T is meant to start and you will fill out a form and decide what verbal and visual cues you would like to use for commands. Upon drop off, it’s your turn! We will walk through all the training your dog has done while away and make sure that you are ready to maintain that for long-term success. Due to the location where this will be held, there are some breed restrictions. Dogs must be up to date on shots, at least 12 weeks of age, and have no reactive or aggressive behaviors. Courses will still be available for those outside of the parameters through private in-home sessions or group classes as scheduled. Aggression and other behavior modification needs are not available as B+T and will only be handled as private in-home sessions as it is best to for owners to be involved in that kind of training and for the dog to learn in the environment where it will be applied.
Live Online Seminars
CCO offers two different live online seminars. These seminars are meant to set owners up for success with their dogs during puppyhood or adoption and beyond. Whether this is your first dog or you are looking to add to your pack, these seminars are a great resource to make a smooth transition.
The Puppy Seminar covers everything new or potential owners need to know before getting a new little friend. Learn about topics like how to choose the right breed for you, how to find a reputable breeder or rescue, choosing a puppy, needed supplies, grooming needs, training options, diet information and a general idea of what to expect.
The Adoption Seminar covers important topics surrounding adopting a dog through rehoming, a shelter or a rescue. Learn about how to choose a dog that is right for you, what a typical adoption process is like, needed supplies, what behaviors to watch for, training options and more.
